Hello Full Tilts! Feels good to have the last long run done, doesn't it. (Yippee!) Depending on how you felt at the end of that run, you might be thinking the Marathon is going to be easy or it maybe a bit of a challenge. Either way, you have got it in the bag! You can let the negative self-talk roll off the mind like water off a duck's back. Those thoughts don't mean "anything". You know why I know? Because you have prepared yourself with a qualified running program designed by one of the best in the running business!!! That's how I know. So step into the light this awareness and feel the confidence surge through your body!!!!
Here's this weekend's first taper-down-long run of 12 miles. Its got a lot of familiar roads on it and a few new ones so take a look and study the west side of it closely.

Let's start at Moxo's at 6:40am since Moxo's opens at 6:30.
Have a great week!

10-4 Captain.. looks good and you are the best!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great route, Bill. Maybe we can stop in at Illini for a cheese blintz or a sticky bun!
ReplyDeleteI am almost sad that our training is drawing to a close. We have two more weekend runs and then the big day! I know that we are planning to continue the "5 at 5" runs. What is on everyone's plate next? I'm looking forward to the Frostbite 10 miler.
ReplyDeleteAnne I too am fighting back the thoughts of this 18 week journey coming to an end. I've postponed so many projects around the house I know Miriam wants me back to "finish" those in limbo and get a few more new ones completed before I jump into another "long-term" commitment. Frostbite training will be fun yet short enough that I won't sleep my weekend's away. So I probably will plan to run in that one. Also, the 5@5 club idea just might get some traction and be a "thing" around town.
ReplyDeleteSandy if you are checking the blog.. Good luck on Sunday and know that your Full Tilt buddies are thinking of you... go get 'em girl!!! Cant wait to hear all about it!!
ReplyDeleteJoni and all Full Tilts - thanks for the support. I am sitting in my Hotel room - I can look out my window and see the start/finish line a few steps away. I have done the expo & packet pick-up. I feel like a tightly coiled spring.
ReplyDeleteHope the 12-miler went well for everyone.
I also plan to do the Frost-Bite - and maybe do some training with the Frost-toes. The 5 @ 5 doesn't work for me. It will be nice to consider a 10-miler a long run again.
Well I will post again after my race. Thank you so much to Bill, Joni and all my fellow full-tilts. I really could not have done this without the support of the best running group in the whole world.
Sandy
